Non-surgical lifting and skin tightening, powered by HIFU.
Shrink Universe HIFU at Link Plastic Surgery in Seoul delivers High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound to the SMAS and dermal layers, tightening skin and lifting facial contours without incisions. Controlled coagulation points at precise tissue depths stimulate collagen remodeling for gradual, natural results.
At Link PS, cartridge depth and shot count are customized per patient based on skin thickness, laxity, and treatment goal. The procedure is KFDA-certified and performed by a board-certified surgeon.

Approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on shot count and treated zones (standard packages start from 300 shots).
Topical numbing cream is standard. Sedation is available for patients who prefer added comfort.
None. Return to daily activity immediately. Mild redness or tenderness may last a few hours.
Initial tightening can be felt within days; the full lifting effect develops over about 3 months as new collagen forms.

Lift sagging cheeks and redefine the jawline for a sharper lower face contour.

Tighten submental laxity that develops with aging or weight change for a cleaner jawline profile.

Firm loose neck skin and soften horizontal neck bands for a smoother neck-to-jaw transition.

Restore mid-face firmness and tone when volume still remains but tissue has begun to descend.

Improve laxity on the abdomen or inner thighs, often after weight change, for smoother body tone.
Shot count alone is not a marker of quality. What matters is using the right cartridge depth for the right tissue layer — matched to your skin thickness and treatment goal.
Shrink (슈링크) is a HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) platform developed in Korea. It is the same device marketed internationally under the name Ultraformer — "Shrink" is simply the brand used in the Korean market.
It is a separate class of device from Ultherapy, which is a higher-tier platform that adds real-time ultrasound visualization during treatment. Shrink / Ultraformer delivers focused ultrasound at defined cartridge depths to stimulate collagen remodeling without disrupting the skin surface — a widely trusted non-surgical lifting option around the world.
Shrink delivers ultrasound energy in four distinct patterns — dots, line, ring, and dotted ring. The surgeon selects and combines patterns based on the area and desired lifting response, allowing both broad coverage and focused spot-work in one session.
Discrete energy points for standard coverage and natural feathering along treatment lines.
Continuous energy in a straight line for sustained thermal stimulation along jawline or neck bands.
Solid circular delivery for focal zones that need concentrated lifting, such as the submental area.
Ring of distributed points combining the softness of dots with the focal control of a ring.
The Repeat Mode system pairs these patterns with both Normal and MP (multi-pulse) delivery, so energy transfer stays efficient and daily-life recovery remains fast.
Handpiece view of how Normal mode and MP mode (Micro & Macro Pulsed Technology) distribute energy. MP mode spreads the thermal footprint for more even coverage in a single pass.
Used for deeper cartridges targeting SMAS and dermal layers for lifting.
Used for shallower cartridges targeting the upper dermis for texture and tone.
Cross-section visualization of how energy deposits at different depths depending on the cartridge selected, shown in both Normal and MP modes.
Shallow delivery for upper dermis and fine textural improvement.
Deep delivery reaching the SMAS layer — the foundational tissue addressed in surgical lifting.
Your surgeon evaluates skin thickness, elasticity, and treatment goals to determine cartridge depths and shot distribution.
Treatment zones are marked across the face or body, and topical numbing cream is applied for comfort.
Ultrasound energy is delivered through customized cartridges, creating controlled thermal coagulation at targeted layers to stimulate collagen.
Collagen remodeling continues for weeks. Visible lifting develops over about 3 months and settles through 6 months.
Patients noticing softening of the jawline or gentle cheek descent but not yet needing surgical intervention.
Those whose skin feels thinner, duller, or less firm due to aging, sun exposure, or high-stress routines.
Patients who want a lifting effect without threads, fillers, or incisional surgery.
Patients who want tighter skin ahead of an event or photoshoot without visible downtime.
Shrink Universe is the latest generation of the Shrink HIFU platform. Internationally, the same device is marketed under the name Ultraformer. It is not the same as Ultherapy: Ultherapy is a different tier of HIFU that adds real-time ultrasound visualization during treatment. Shrink / Ultraformer delivers focused ultrasound at defined cartridge depths and is widely used worldwide for non-surgical lifting.
Good candidates are adults with early to moderate skin laxity who prefer tightening without incisions. Patients with severe sagging may benefit more from surgical options. Treatment is deferred for active skin infection, recent filler or toxin in the same area, pacemaker or metal implants in the treatment zone, keloid tendency, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Final suitability is confirmed during consultation.
There is no fixed age. Suitability is based on skin condition rather than a number. Preventive sessions are sometimes considered from the late 20s when early laxity or fine texture changes appear, with the 30s and 40s being the most common starting range. Teens and very early twenties generally do not need it.
The Booster 1.5mm cartridge delivers energy to the upper dermis for texture, fine lines, and tone. The Ultra F 4.5mm cartridge reaches the SMAS layer — the foundational tissue addressed in surgical facelifts — for deeper lifting and jawline definition. Shrink has 9 cartridge types spanning 1.5–9.0mm (including 6.0 and 9.0mm for body), and your surgeon combines them based on your anatomy and goals. Treatments can run in Normal mode or MP (Micro & Macro Pulsed) mode depending on the target layer.
No. Shot count alone is not a quality marker. What matters is selecting the correct cartridge depth for each area and distributing energy evenly. Excessive shots can cause unnecessary discomfort and, in the wrong hands, fat atrophy, neuralgia, or surface irregularity. Your surgeon recommends a shot count and pattern after in-person assessment; more is not always better.
Some initial tightening can be felt within days from tissue contraction. The main lifting effect develops over 2–3 months as new collagen forms and continues to settle through the 6-month mark. The effect typically holds for about 12–18 months, depending on skin type, baseline aging, and lifestyle.
The interval is individualized. For most adults, a single session followed by an annual or every-12–18-month maintenance session is a reasonable rhythm. Patients starting with more pronounced laxity sometimes benefit from two sessions spaced several months apart in the first year before moving to a maintenance cadence. Your surgeon confirms the schedule during review.
Most patients describe a brief prickling or warm sensation during energy delivery, more noticeable at deeper cartridges. Topical numbing cream is standard; oral pain medication or sedation is available for those who prefer additional comfort. Any discomfort resolves quickly after the session.
No meaningful downtime. Mild redness, tenderness, or slight tingling may last a few hours. Makeup and routine activity are generally fine the same day.
Before: avoid recent dermal filler or botulinum toxin in the treatment area (timing is planned by your surgeon), retinoid creams for about a week, and blood-thinning medications or supplements (aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, ibuprofen) per your surgeon's instructions. After: avoid alcohol and smoking for 2–3 days, sauna and hot baths for about a week, and vigorous exercise while the area is still tender. Mild surface flaking during regeneration should not be peeled.
Yes. Common same-day combinations include skin boosters (Rejuran, Juvelook) and exosome therapy for hydration, and Botox for dynamic lines. Filler or thread lifts are usually spaced separately. Booster and Ultra F cartridges are frequently combined in one Shrink session to address surface and deep layers together.
Shrink Universe is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Elective energy-based procedures are deferred in these periods as a precaution. Treatment can be considered after weaning and once your routine stabilizes.
Typical and temporary: mild redness, swelling, bruising, tingling, and surface tenderness. Less common: prolonged numbness, small bumps along treatment lines, or uneven response. Rare but important: excessive shot count or incorrect cartridge depth can lead to fat atrophy (hollowing), neuralgia, or surface irregularity. Working with an experienced operator who tailors depth, energy, and shot distribution significantly reduces these risks.
A single Shrink Universe session is same-day and does not require extended stay. A comfortable itinerary is: Day 1 consultation and design, Day 2 procedure (30–90 minutes), optional Day 3 check-up. Most patients return home after 2–3 nights. If combined with surgery, the itinerary is planned around the more demanding procedure. After returning home, remote check-ins via WhatsApp are arranged during the settling period; photos are reviewed by your surgeon and local follow-up guidance is provided if needed.
